We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, hard-working Placement Student, with an interest in the analysis of business processes in the role of Business Analyst. You will join our friendly, innovative and growing team, currently more than 75 people, based either at our offices in Plymouth overlooking Dartmoor, at home or a mixture of the two. You will be working on large scale, high profile projects often using the latest technologies which means that you can really develop and showcase your skills.
Under the guidance and leadership of Senior team members, you will work in a matrix team environment, often in an Agile way, with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, UCD/UX Experts and Network Support Engineers delivering a wide variety of challenging and interesting projects - some client-facing, others around product development. You will work closely with our software developers to deliver well considered, easy to use, attractive web applications and you will contribute towards our goal of continually delivering outstanding software. You will learn about software development in a commercial environment and gain real world experience of designing, building, maintaining and supporting web-based applications. You will also receive a mix of on-the-job and more formal technical training.
We are looking for people who have may have experience in business analysis techniques for engaging with clients and eliciting requirements. You will be skilled in clear and concise technical writing and have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. You should have an understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies (ideally Scrum and Kanban). Most importantly you will have an enthusiasm for designing web based software, producing fully defined requirements and designs to address client needs.

Initial interviews will be via Teams with our Department Lead and If successful you will be invited to attend a competency-based interview either here at the GOSS offices in Plymouth or again via Teams which will last approximately 1.5 hours You will be expected to be able to evidence previous examples of your work.
