We have helped our clients deliver new online services to their citizens including ferry disruptions, improved waste collection solutions as well complex integration into various 3rd party systems.
We are looking for full and part time Senior Software Developers to join our team.
As a Senior Software Developer, you will be expected to lead and provide expert technical direction on both client and product projects. You will be responsible for designing and producing products and client solutions that align with agreed architectural principals and meet high quality standards. You will occasionally be required to travel to attend meetings or deliver consultancy off-site for client projects.
We are looking for Senior Software Developers with significant commercial experience as a lead developer building dynamic web applications using Java or C# (ASP.NET MVC). You are able to understand complex client requirements and distil them into work packages with appropriate acceptance criteria. You design well-architect ed solutions that consider testing, security, performance, and accessibility. You are enthusiastic about technology and take pride in delivering work of a high quality. You are adaptable and work well as part of a team on multiple concurrent projects. Good communication skills are essential.
A degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline, and/or industry experience in a relevant field.
GOSS was founded in 1999, and today comprises over 60 people. We are a growing software business based on the edge of Dartmoor. Our clients range from the public sector (Police Forces and Government) to private sector brands such as Brittany Ferries & Caledonian MacBrayne.

Initial interviews will be via telephone/Skype with our Technical Lead and a Senior Software Developer. If successful you will be invited to attend a competency-based interview here at the GOSS offices in Plymouth which will last approximately 1 hour. You will be expected to be able evidence previous examples of your work and you will need to bring along a presentation that lasts 10 minutes on an agreed topic.
