Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and East Renfrewshire Council faced the common challenge of safely reopening household recycling centers (HRCs) post-lockdown while managing heightened demand and ensuring the safety of citizens. To address this, they rapidly developed bespoke digital booking systems using GOSS Bookings. These systems proved vital in managing HRC bookings efficiently. Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council saw significant resource savings, improved traffic management at its Crumlin site, and enhanced responsiveness to fly-tipping reports. East Renfrewshire Council managed over 12,545 bookings since launching its system, maintaining a seamless user experience despite high demand. Both councils plan to continue collaborating with GOSS for future digital projects.
