Ards and North Down Borough Council, located in the Eastern region of Northern Ireland, serves a population of 164,000 residents across a sprawling 177-square-mile area that includes the Ards Peninsula, most of Strangford Lough, and the southern shore of Belfast Lough.

Recognising the need to modernise its online presence and support the delivery of digital services to its community, the council has sought a new website and web platform to replace their existing content management system (CMS).

To assist this change, the council has chosen GOSS Content, a CMS solution loved by other GOSS clients for its flexibility, accessibility, and responsiveness. Furthermore, the council also have access to the broader capabilities of the GOSS Digital Platform. With the power of the GOSS Digital Platform in hand, Ards and North Down also have opened the door to utilise GOSS Expansion modules as required, facilitating their transition to offer a wider range of digital services in a responsive and cost-effective manner.

The modular nature of the GOSS Digital Platform empowers local authorities to procure only the specific elements they need initially. They can then expand their platform in tandem with the tangible savings derived from their digital transformation efforts. This approach represents an attractive "invest-to-save" procurement model, particularly valuable in the context of budget constraints within the public sector.

This strategic move by Ards and North Down Borough Council demonstrates a commitment to harnessing technology to better serve their community, and we look forward to witnessing the positive impact of this digital transformation.
