Beth Norman

Beth Norman

Head of Client Services

How long have you been at GOSS?: I started with GOSS in August 2023.

What has been your greatest achievement so far at GOSS?: I've loved getting to know my new colleagues and working together on so many new projects. I'm particularly proud of the work I'm doing on improving data collection and analysis, helping us to continue to improve services. It's been lovely to have others across the business get involved and see the benefits.

What's the best thing about working at GOSS?: Feeling like I'm part of a team of people who genuinely care about what they do, and each other.

Favourite motto/quote?: "Be a teacher. Please. Be a teacher. Teachers are the most admirable and important people in the world... Even if you're not a teacher, be a teacher. Share your ideas. Don't take for granted your education. Rejoice in what you learn and spray it." Tim Minchin

Favourite place in the world?: Home - I love the absolute peace and total chaos that is home.

How long have you been at GOSS?: Seven years.

What do you enjoy most about being a part of the Client Success Team at GOSS?:  What I enjoy most about the Client Success team is having the challenge of making what we do even better for our clients and finding new ways of making them successful.

Favourite place in the world?: La Vallée des Confins. It's in the French alps just outside La Clusaz.  I have many happy memories from holidays in the area.

What has been your greatest achievement so far at GOSS?: Seeing the first process I worked on with a client go live and knowing it was making theirs and their citizens' lives better.

What's the best thing about working at GOSS?: Being able to make a difference. The company is always open to new ideas and approaches.

Favourite motto/quote: Believe you can change the world.

Training Manager

How long have you been at GOSS?: Since June 2004

What do you enjoy most about being on the Application Support Team?: I love finding solutions - those tickets that have you scratching your head for ages then the 'eureka' moment finally happens. Working on the training team also keeps the role varied and I love seeing clients getting excited about functionality they'd not seen before.

If you could become any animal, which animal would it be?: Dolphin and hang out by some beautiful Islands and Corals

Top 3 things on your bucket list?: Climb Sydney bridge, dive the Great Barrier Reef and sky dive!

What's the best thing about working at GOSS?: The people! They really are amazing

Documentation Manager

How long have you been at GOSS?: Just over 11 years.

What do you enjoy most about being a part of the Client Success team at GOSS?: With documentation I get to be involved in everything. I see brand new features as they are being built, get to play with new releases before anyone else, and also set out on Indiana Jones style archaeological explorations of some of our legacy products.

What has been your greatest achievement so far at GOSS?: That's really tough, because I've worked in the Support Team, as Technical Author, briefly as Product Manager and now Documentation Manager there's been so much. I suppose it's creating and being responsible for everything on the docs site.

Favourite motto/quote?: I could recite most of the scripts for almost every episode of Ab Fab so this is hard. I suppose it's one from Eddie - "I don't want more choice, I just want nicer things!" which I've always thought is a pretty good approach to product design.

What's the best thing about working at GOSS?: Everyone always says the people, so I'm going to say the responsibility. It's so nice to be trusted to get a job done and being able to use your own judgement and experience in your work. Oh, and the people are OK too.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?: Assuming I already get the Complete Works of Shakespeare, the Bible and my eight favourite songs, my other three would be the whole of Bordeaux (including the entire contents of Cite du Vin and wine school), my Le Creuset pots and pans (I'm counting that as one set), and my band (so that's four of us plus equipment - mainly to help drink all the wine).

What is the best thing about working at GOSS?: The people & atmosphere, everyone has been so friendly and welcoming.

What is your guilty pleasure?: Sewing outrageous outfits that I'll never wear out of the house!

What's your go-to karaoke song?: Britney Spears - Toxic.

Favourite place in the world?: Iceland, although I'm yet to see the northern lights.

Rachel Culpitt

Rachel Cupitt

Application Support Technician

How long have you been at GOSS?: Since October 2022

What do you enjoy most about being on the Application Support Team?: The teamwork, the availability of information and the autonomy to take on challenging tickets and find solutions for them is very gratifying.

Who would play you in a movie about your life?: Anya Taylor-Joy

What is your guilty pleasure?: Spending far too much time playing video games

What's the best thing about working at GOSS?: The people. There's a reason you see so much about how awesome the company culture is, I can verify that it's portrayed accurately. Well worth the hungover train rides back north ;).

How long have you been at GOSS?: Since the beginning of January 2024.

I am looking forward to developing my knowledge of the platform and being a valued team member.

What's the best thing about working at GOSS?: The knowledge and experience that is available from other members of the team is incredible. I look forward to tapping into this knowledge and developing my skills over a long career.

What is your guilty pleasure?: Banana Ice cream, specifically from a Disney Cruise Line.

What's your go-to Karaoke song?: Jonny Cash - Ring of fire.

Favourite place in the world?: Edinburgh on New Years Eve, great atmosphere.

Kate Llewellyn

Kate Llewellyn

Application Support Technician

How long have you been at GOSS?: Since the September 2024.

What's the best thing about working at GOSS?: I was immediately struck by the work culture and the way in which colleagues go out of their way to make sure I have been settling in. I truly feel I've landed on my feet here at GOSS - I couldn't ask for a better team of people or a better balance of dedication, encouragement, and laughter.

What's something about you people wouldn't know?: I have a love of good food and wine. I even have a professional qualification in Wines and Spirits (WSET Level 1)!

If you could become any animal, which animal would it be?: A sloth. I know it's a bit of an odd choice, but sloths are often misjudged as lazy and stupid. In actuality, they are patient, intentional, and observant creatures who live wholly in the moment.

Favourite place in the world?: The Minack Theatre in Cornwall is one of my favourite places in the world.
