Responsible for food safety and hygiene across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) is the independent government department working to protect public health and consumers' wider interests relating to food. The FSA's work is also significant in helping to reduce the economic burden of foodborne illness and supports the UK economy and trade. With this in mind, the FSA have recently decided to join the GOSS community of clients to help improve their digital and online service provision.

After a thorough procurement process, the FSA selected the GOSS Digital Platform to replace its various legacy systems. Using the Platform's case management capabilities, the FSA are looking to deliver an improved digital service experience for both its internal and external users. With the Digital Platform's flexible approach to digital self-service delivery, the FSA are now equipped with a solution more capable of adapting to their business needs, both now and for future service delivery.

Working in partnership with the FSA, the first project to be collaborated on using the GOSS Digital Platform, is the delivery of a proposed pilot service within the customer contact and meat/dairy FBO approvals. This will include set-up, configuration, training, and support of the solution, and will help to streamline the process of approving business for the trading of meat/dairy products. Once the pilot service has been delivered, the FSA then look set to extend the solution to other prioritised use cases. Helping to efficiently manage enquiries from services using case management across the FSA.

The FSA is now looking toward a future of improved service delivery for all their internal and external users. With their new Platform, the FSA are now able to move forward with many of their digital aspirations, and ensure interactions with other businesses and consumers are now managed in a professional and consistent manner.
