Sarah Konst
Head of Project Management
How long have you been at GOSS?
I started at GOSS in 2011 after completing my degree, and initially worked as a Support Technician in Application Support. This gave me a strong product grounding before I moved across into the Projects team in 2013.
What do you do at GOSS?
My day-to-day activities are focused around project and programme delivery for a wide variety of projects.
I have spent many years working on CRM delivery projects, dealing with lots of external partners for various LOBS integrations such as Idox, Echo-Veolia, Bartec, Capita and more. I've worked on large scale hosting and content migration projects, new product deliveries, cross-client deliveries, and many hundreds of site go-lives.
It's really rewarding building relationships with our clients and onboarding their projects ensuring a smooth transition and helping them maximise the potential of the Platform to achieve the best benefits.
Alongside project delivery I work with all teams at GOSS to identify areas for improvement in our processes, and delivery methods, to ensure we're continuously improving our clients' experience of working with the GOSS team and systems.
What has been your greatest achievement so far at GOSS?
It's hard to pick on a specific achievement or project, however one particular project I'm proud of was the rollout of our Digital Platform to Chiltern and South Buckinghamshire District Councils (now Buckinghamshire Council). This project was a large programme of work onboarding two Councils in to a shared Platform. It involved various streams of work, integrations, and the introduction of a lot of change to their business, which I lead for a successful implementation that saw a large uptick in digital engagement with citizens. This was one of our earlier Digital Platform projects and since this it's been great to see the Platform continue to go from strength to strength.
What's the best thing about working at GOSS?
There's two things I'd choose as the best things about working at GOSS, firstly is the variety of projects we get to work on - whilst there is a lot of commonality in our clients, each project has it's own set of challenges to tackle.
Secondly, and more importantly, is the people - I've met some of my best friends at GOSS, I even met my husband at GOSS, the whole of the GOSS team are supportive, friendly, and approachable. From fun socials (think 30 adults hiring a soft play area and running around in the dark doing laser-tag), to bake sales, to competitive quizzes, and also through to the day to day collaboration between teams; everyone is able to feed in to discussions, always willing to lend a hand, or answer any queries you may have.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I entertain my two cats, play board games, tackle escape rooms, attempt crafting, baking, and socialise with friends and family.
I'm very lucky living in Plymouth very close to the sea, so when the weather is amenable I also like to kayak in Plymouth Sound, and dabble in a bit of sea swimming.
What are you 'known for' at GOSS?
Ooh, I'm not sure what I'm best known for at GOSS. Probably laughing too loudly, or perhaps for being a nerdy Eurovision fan - I attended the final in Liverpool last year! It's chaotic, vibrant, and great fun. When the annual Eurovision sweepstake swings around I'm there in a flash!
Katie South
Project Manager
How long have you been at GOSS?
I started at GOSS in 2014 as a Sales Administrator working for a small Transformation team within Sales.
What do you do at GOSS?
As things developed within the business, I was given a wonderful opportunity to upskill and join the fantastic Project management Team. This was something I could not pass up and have been doing this now for 8 years and I absolutely love it. I initially came from a medical background and had not explored the work of Tech and Software development, so this was a huge change. There are definitely aspects that go right over my head still.... There's always someone else I can ask if I don't get it!
What has been your greatest achievement so far at GOSS?
Wow, greatest achievement...that's a hard one to pick out after 10 years. I would say my overall progress within the company, going from Sales Administrator to Project Manager was a huge highlight, it was something I never thought possible when I first joined. But I think project wise it would be between the Glasgow City Council Hosting Migration, moving Glasgow's hosting infrastructure over to GOSS. This was very lengthy, and we were so pleased when this finally launched this year. They are a great client to work with. Also, the challenge of getting the East and West London Fostering Hubs up and running, this started from the creation of a completely new product to the working Fostering Hub it is now, facilitating in the enquiries for potential foster carers.
What's the best thing about working at GOSS?
There are so many things to enjoy about working here, no day is ever the same. The people are fantastic and so welcoming, and no one is ever judged, even me when I have a brain block and ask the same questions over again. I have got to experience so much in the way of new technology, new processes and countless differing projects that are each challenging in their own right. I'm always looking forward to seeing what the next project will bring.
I have also had the joy within the last 6+ years being part of an internal team, The GREAT Team, where we try to engage all people within the company and bring everyone together. As part of this I have been involved in organising lots of social events, many sweepstakes with our favourite being Eurovision and hosting countless Bake Off's for plenty of different charities. We love cake at GOSS.
What is your guilty pleasure?
I love a Jigsaw Puzzle; I find it a great way to switch off from the day.
Favourite place in the world?
One of my favourite places in the world is London, it holds a special place in my heart and try to visit as much as I can.
What is the top experience on your bucket list?
The top experience on my Bucket list would be to cage dive with Great White Sharks. Hopefully one day I will achieve this.
What's a fun fact about you?
I'm a big fan of Helicopters, Fighter Jets and naval ships. The location of our GOSS office is a haven for being able to watch Helicopters fly to the marine barracks and exercises on the moors. It's great. My dad was in the Army and Navy, so I got a lot of up-close experiences and Helicopter rides when I was younger.
Do you have any pets?
I have a grumpy old cat called Millie, she is 15, she has been present on quite a few of my calls...alongside my kids.

Being in the PM team is great as we get the opportunity to work with the majority of teams within the business and support various tasks such as continuous improvements and bid responses.
What has been your greatest achievement so far at GOSS?
It has definitely been a busy and fast year for me, I have been lucky to work with a range of clients and such a variety of projects so far. I would say the greatest achievement so far would be working with Together for Children and Sunderland to deliver the Foster North East Pathfinder project.
What's the best thing about working at GOSS?
The people and social aspect of working for GOSS are great for sure, GOSS has such an inviting and open culture. Even though I work remotely the majority of the time, I still feel part of a great team and that I have good relationships with my peers. I also really enjoy the variation of projects that I get to work on, it gives me the opportunity to always be learning about our products, and also continue to grow in my role as a project manager.
If you could become any animal, which animal would it be?
An Alpaca, they have to live in herds and they kind of just bop around all day!

- Travel Scotland's North Coast 500
- Own a minimum of 3 dogs
- Work on a Platypus conservation project in Australia
Favourite place in the world?
Poole Quay and Brownsea Island - I can't pick between them, but so many found childhood memories growing up and spending time with my siblings and cousins there.
