Overview
Case Management is one of the most important products that GOSS provides. It allows our clients to interact with tens of thousands of citizens each day and to manage their requests and allocate tasks. The Case Management implementation is currently being improved and modernised using TypeScript and Node.js as well as existing functionality in the GOSS Digital Platform.
Activities
Day to day:
- Participating in daily internal stand-up meetings and project meetings
- Implementing tests for new functionality in Case Management
- Implementing new functionality in Case Management
- Code reviews for other developers in the team
- Assisting other developers in the team
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults in Case Management
Weekly, monthly, or less frequently:
- Participating in refinement, planning and retrospective meetings
- Helping with high level development / architectural decisions
- Helping the Support Team with client questions
- Working with other teams to support Case Management
The Case Management Team
The team is currently made up of developers who have been rotated out of other teams. The team is small, focussed and moving fast. We are enthusiastic about software quality, clean architecture, and automation. When you join the team you will have a dedicated mentor. As your career progresses you will have the opportunity to work in other development teams, or to specialise in Case Management.
Who we are looking for
There are a few base skills that we require. Outside of those we will consider any skills and experience that you believe you can offer to the team.
Required:
- TypeScript
- Unit testing
- Version control (ideally Git)
- You are enthusiastic about software and technology
- Teamwork and collaboration
Ideally:
- Node.js
- Agile software development
Location

Interview details:
Initial interviews will be via Teams with our Team Lead and if successful you will be invited to attend a competency-based interview either here at the GOSS offices in Plymouth or again via Teams which will last approximately 1.5 hours You will be expected to be able to evidence previous examples of your work.
