Suffolk County Council chooses GOSS self-service
Suffolk County Council are the latest UK local government authority to select GOSS as their self-service provider.
Suffolk County Council, which serves a population of more than 730,000, has broad portfolio of responsibilities encompassing education, environment, planning, waste, leisure and culture, public safety, fire and rescue, registrars, social care, trading standards, and roads and transport.
In common with most local authorities, the processes that deliver these services to residents are often quite specific to the council and can involve unique workflows. Corresponding digital service delivery requires a powerful and completely flexible software platform capable of being configured for almost any conceivable use case. However, as Suffolk and many other councils have discovered, solutions that can handle this level of process complexity have typically been characterised by being exceptionally resource intensive, even in the hands of teams of highly skilled developers, which places inherent limits on the speed of project delivery. To better meet the needs of the council, a platform that would allow their developers to rapidly build bespoke online services was required. By no means all digital service requirements are complex, however, and to gain maximum productivity efficiencies the council also needed the facility for non-technical users, rather than IT, to be able to build forms and processes wherever possible.
